I have just received a message that the FAAN (Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria) was hacked by Naija Cyber Hactivists. In addition to the usual Image following text was posted:
EXTORTION OF PASSENGERS PROCESSING CHARGES BY FAAN/BI-COURTNEY AVIATION
Bi-courtney Aviation Services limited in collaboration with FAAN are ripping air travelers at MM2 off, they now charge N2,500 as Passenger Processing Charge (PPC) per passenger traveling through MM2 an increase from N,1000 earlier charged by FAAN from other Airports in Nigeria.
This illegal activity took effect on the 11th of July. Prior to this date FAAN had also been extorting Nigerians a sum of N1,000 from other airport like the Omagwa Intl airport in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for the said Passenger Processing Charge.
Ikeja, Lagos – July 19, 2011 – NaijaCyberHacktivist
„We work hard, you tax us. We buy stuff you tell us to have, you tax us. We travel by air, you tax us. We file for taxes, you take more money.“ #EnoughIsEnough
The airport(s) was built with TAX PAYERS MONEY but you are forced to pay between N100 – N150 to go through the toll-gates, depending on the size of your vehicle, you will also rent a trolley to help convey your luggage for N350 from SAHCOL officials, these are free services in other countries. After the tax charged per ticket, they have now imposed N2500 as PPC per traveler.
FAAN and its Allies are trying to milk Nigerians and other citizens who travel via these airport(s) on a daily basis.
We have decided to take a stand on this issue, like the millions of Nigerians and foreign citizen out there going through pain having to cough out such large sums for services they don’t get to revolt and ensure this form of injustice doesn’t go on.
We wish to use this release to WARN the management of both FAAN and Bi-Courtney to STOP this extortion IMMEDIATELY or we would be force to compromise all their Assets and SHUT DOWN major infrastructure. (Infrastructure put in place by Tax Payer Funds)
We are Watching you!
